PRINS Mini-Conference at the Department of Sociology, FSS MU

We warmly invite you to the PRINS Mini-Conference, which will take place on Friday, 18 September 2026, starting at 9:00 a.m. in room 3.71 at the Faculty of Social Studies, Masaryk University.

Throughout the day, members of the PRINS project will present their ongoing research, work in progress, and preliminary findings. The event offers an opportunity to learn about the diverse research topics being explored within the project and to engage in discussion with fellow researchers.

Darina Kmentová: How Fertility Difficulties Affect Partnerships

Difficulties conceiving are most commonly associated with reproductive health, yet their effects may extend far beyond childbearing and influence the quality and stability of romantic relationships. Sociologist Darina Kmentová presented research at the 15th Olomouc Autumn Sociological Conference showing that experiences at the beginning of a couple’s reproductive journey can have long-term consequences for partnership stability.

Darina Kmentová: First Reproductive Experiences and Partnership Stability

The first attempt to conceive may influence not only future reproductive trajectories but also the future of a romantic relationship. Research by Darina Kmentová from the Faculty of Social Studies at Masaryk University examines how the outcome and duration of a couple’s first attempt to conceive are associated with the risk of partnership dissolution. The findings were presented at the Divorce Conference Copenhagen 2026.
